CHANDRA GHANTA - चंद्र घंटा

“Chandra” means moon, and “Ghanta” means bell. Maa Chandraghanta is the goddess who wears a crescent moon on her forehead shaped like a bell — symbolizing divine alertness and unwavering readiness to protect.

She rides a tiger or lion, embodying fearlessness and powerful grace.

Maa Chandraghanta has ten arms holding weapons like trident, mace, bow, arrow, sword, and kamandalu. She also holds a lotus and makes gestures of blessing and protection (abhaya and varada mudra). A crescent moon shines on her forehead, and her form glows golden.

White, red, or pastel gold — representing courage, purity, and divine energy.

• Represents the Manipura Chakra (solar plexus) — governing power, self-confidence, and transformation.

• Destroys evil and negativity with her warrior form while showering love and protection on her devotees.
